Guidelines For Belly Button Piercing Aftercare. Belly button piercings have been very popular for a while now. However, they need to be carefully looked after, especially during the healing process. Here are some tips and guidelines for belly button piercing aftercare.

Getting Pierced
When you first go to your piercer, it’s important to make sure they have a lot of knowledge about belly button piercing and the aftercare. It’s also very imperative for you to see how clean their room is, and to make sure that they have a portfolio that you can look through as well. You wouldn’t want to eat at a restaurant that was filthy and you definitely do not want to get pierced in a dirty facility.

The Healing Period
It can take between three to six months for your belly button piercing to fully heal, although your jewelry can be downsized and changed after the first month. During this time, it’s important to keep the piercing clean. Expect a bit of swelling as this is very normal and it will go down within the next few days. You can soak on ice for the first 24 to 48 hours to ease the pain. You can alternatively take an anti-inflammatory, which will reduce the swelling.

Cleaning the Outer Piercing
To take care of your new piercing on the outside, make sure you wash your hands first. Make sure that you clean any dirt around the area then dry thoroughly. We recommend using H2Ocean’s Piercing Aftercare Spray.

We are well aware that sea salt helps in stimulation the body’s healing process. The best way to use H2Ocean’s Piercing Aftercare Spray is just spray it around your piercing 3-6 times a day and you’re good to go, but do not wipe it off. It helps to alleviate the itching and swelling.

What to Avoid
Make sure you don’t play with it. This can cause a lot of problems with swelling and infection. Stay away from pools, the ocean and hot tubs. Try not to wear any tight fitting clothes around the pierced belly area that may rub against the healing area. Also avoid or at the very least reduce the amount of alcohol, caffeine and aspirin during the healing period.

If you follow these guidelines for belly button piercing aftercare you will be well on your way to a beautifully healed piercing so you can wear your favorite crop top to show it off to all your family and friends.

Let’s talk Xylitol - Your mouth’s new best friend!

Xylitol means ‘wood sugar’ is a natural sweetener made from birch or corn.

The neat thing about Xylitol is that, unlike normal sugar, it won’t feed the harmful bacteria in your mouth! Instead, the bacteria has to spend MORE energy trying to digest Xylitol than what it gets from eating it. Thus, Xylitol slowly starves the bad bacteria living in your mouth, leaving the helpful bacteria alone, and helping naturally regulate the micro-biome of your mouth.

On top of that, Xylitol also keeps your saliva’s Ph balanced, and promotes a healthier environment for your enamel. We take advantage of this opportunity by packing our mouthwash with 80+ trace minerals that help remineralize your teeth, keeping cavities away!

When you choose a mouthwash with Xylitol, you’re saying yes to a healthier, fresher mouth WITHOUT the harsh chemicals or sugary drawbacks.
So why settle for sweet, when you can have smart? Your smile deserves better.
