Hand Dryers, Bacteria, and Importance of Hand Hygiene

Hand dryers and bacteria continue to be an important topic in infection prevention research. A peer reviewed study published in the Journal of Hospital Infection investigated how different hand drying methods influence the spread of bacteria in public washrooms. The findings provide valuable insight into the importance of complete hand hygiene, extending beyond handwashing alone.

Hand dryers capture microbes, so a rinse-free H2Ocean hand sanitizing foam, alcohol-free, will be a true alternative.

Whale Necropolis Reveal Nature's Remarkable Resilience

A new study published in Nature has uncovered a remarkable deep sea discovery. Researchers identified a “whale necropolis” in the southeastern Indian Ocean that has supported marine life for at least 5.3 million years. The site contains evidence of repeated whale fall events. Whale falls occur when whale carcasses sink to the ocean floor. These events create nutrient rich habitats that sustain specialized organisms for decades. The researchers found that this deep sea region functioned as an ecological corridor. Whale necropolis (remains) provided a continuous source of nutrients that supported biodiversity and chemosynthetic communities over millions of years. The study findings expand our understanding of how marine ecosystems maintain balance and resilience through natural cycles. They also highlight the extraordinary interconnectedness of ocean life.

A recent study suggests that the ocean ecosystem collaborates with the whale necropolis.

Zinc Deficiency, Hair Loss and Sea Salt Minerals

Zinc deficiency may play a role in hair loss.  A recent scientific study has strengthened the growing understanding of the relationship between zinc deficiency and hair loss. Researchers found that individuals experiencing certain forms of hair loss often had lower zinc levels. The study findings highlight the importance of proper nutrition in supporting healthy hair growth. Hair loss affects millions of people worldwide. It can influence confidence, appearance, and quality of life. While genetics and hormones remain important factors, researchers continue to investigate how nutritional deficiencies affect hair and scalp health.

Zinc deficiency significantly contributes to hair loss. Natural sea salt contains zinc, which supports hair growth.

Female Reproductive Health and Oral Inflammation

A newly published scientific study has strengthened the growing understanding of the connection between oral health and overall systemic wellbeing. Researchers reported that chronic oral inflammation may affect female reproductive health through immune and inflammatory pathways. The study investigated the effects of persistent oral inflammation in a murine model. Researchers focused on inflammation associated with oral tissues and examined how inflammatory signals influenced organs beyond the mouth. The findings demonstrated that chronic oral inflammation triggered widespread biological responses throughout the body.

Oral Mucositis Management During Radiotherapy by Lysozyme

Oral mucositis commonly affects oncology patients, especially individuals with head and neck cancer. The condition causes ulcerative inflammatory changes in the oral mucosa. Current treatment strategies aim to regenerate tissues, modulate immune responses, reduce microbial activity, and manage pain. Palifermin remains the only approved drug for oral mucositis management. Despite its impact on quality of life and treatment success, prevention and treatment options remain limited.

Recent scientific research published in 2025 has highlighted the potential role of lysozyme based oral care approaches in supporting patients undergoing radiotherapy for head and neck cancers. Researchers in this study investigated the effectiveness and safety of a lysozyme based oral spray in patients experiencing radiotherapy induced oral mucositis, one of the most common and challenging side effects associated with cancer treatment.
