Tattoo Aftercare Maintenance Tips. After you get tattooed it is very important to follow the proper tattoo aftercare and maintenance so that it heals properly without any infections. It’s also important to know that your new tattoo needs to breathe as it heals. Applying excessive lotions, creams or getting them wet for too long will can delay and also hinder the healing process.

Tattoo aftercare starts the day that the tattoo is finished. After a few hours remove the covering, then wash it H2Ocean’s Blue Green Foam Soap with light pressure so you don’t ruin the detail of the new tattoo. Make sure that all or about all hints of blood are  gone.

For the best tattoo aftercare, wash the tattooed area a few times a day. If the tattoo is on your hand or foot then wash it at least three to four times each day since that region is more inclined to attract dirt. Then rinse with warm water and pat it dry with a paper tower. Let the tattoo air dry for around twenty minutes.

Next step is to apply a light coat of H2Ocean’s Aquatat Ointment. Keep in mind that the tattoo needs to breathe, so apply just a little bit and let it soak into the skin. If you apply too much ointment or too little it will make the tattoo scab, which you would prefer not to happen.

Inside 3 or 4 days of beginning tattoo aftercare, the skin will start to form scabs. When tattoos scab they tend to tingle a bit. It will be extremely tempting but do you best to try  and not pull off the pieces, rub, pick or scratch the tattoo. Doing any of these will harm the delicate skin and may cause blotchiness in shading. This is all in your best interest so be mindful not to peel the scabs off or else this could compromise the end result.

After your tattoo heals you want to make sure to exercise the best maintenance on your tattoo. It is in your best interest to keep your tattoo out of the sun but this isn’t always an option, especially if you work outdoors. If you are going to be out in the sun then use H2Ocean’s Surfer’s Choice SPF 50 Sunscreen Spray. Apply it before you are going to be exposed to the sun. If you are going to be sweating or in the ocean or pool then reapply it after every hour or so.

By following these tattoo aftercare maintenance tips you will be on your way showing off your new tattoo to all your family, friends and beyond.

Let’s talk Xylitol - Your mouth’s new best friend!

Xylitol means ‘wood sugar’ is a natural sweetener made from birch or corn.

The neat thing about Xylitol is that, unlike normal sugar, it won’t feed the harmful bacteria in your mouth! Instead, the bacteria has to spend MORE energy trying to digest Xylitol than what it gets from eating it. Thus, Xylitol slowly starves the bad bacteria living in your mouth, leaving the helpful bacteria alone, and helping naturally regulate the micro-biome of your mouth.

On top of that, Xylitol also keeps your saliva’s Ph balanced, and promotes a healthier environment for your enamel. We take advantage of this opportunity by packing our mouthwash with 80+ trace minerals that help remineralize your teeth, keeping cavities away!

When you choose a mouthwash with Xylitol, you’re saying yes to a healthier, fresher mouth WITHOUT the harsh chemicals or sugary drawbacks.
So why settle for sweet, when you can have smart? Your smile deserves better.
