What Do I Put on a New Tattoo?

Table of Contents

Getting a tattoo is much more acceptable than ever before and has no signs of slowing down. But, just being able to bear the pain is not the only thing you need to worry about, the most important thing about getting your tattoo is the aftercare that needs to be taken to preserve the integrity of the color, and prevent any other damage to your skin.
It’s always best to listen to the tattoo aftercare instructions given by the tattoo artist and to follow them thoroughly, like keeping the covering, no picking or scratching, avoiding sunlight, applying moisturizer, etc. But there are times, when the tattoo artists suggest tattoo healing products.
So here are some suggestions that you can put on a new tattoo to help the healing process and keep it safe and smooth.

Soap:

Once you get home, the best thing to do is remove the bandage or plastic wrap and gently wash the tattooed area. Most soaps cause too much drying which can damage the tattoo, which is why it is best to choose quality products. H2Ocean’s Blue Green Soap was designed so that when you wash your tattoo, you won’t have excessive drying. It has aloe vera which will help keep your tattoo moist which is very important during the healing phase. Just gently wash the tattoo a few times a day with warm water.

Ointment:

H2Ocean’s Aquatat is an ointment designed for healing tattoos. Just apply a thin layer a few times a day but make sure not to overcoat it. Put it on the tattoo after you wash it and pat it dry. Some of the other benefits of this product is that is doesn’t smell, won’t give you pimples and no excessive drying which can damage a tattoo.

Moisturizer:

After your tattoo heals we suggest H2Ocean’s InkRenu. Apply it multiple times throughout the day until fully healed, and then gradually reduced to twice a day, till the shine of the tattoo disappears. It was designed not for just new tattoos but older ones also to help bring it back to life to make sure the colors are protected and free from drying. You can use this moisturizer daily. Some of the other benefits of this moisturizer is that it prevents the tattoo from any kind of infection and also prevents it from itching and other skin problems.

Sunscreen:

After your tattoo heals and you are going to expose it to the sun we suggest H2Ocean’s Sea Life. This was designed to not only protect and take care of your tattoos but also your skin, face and body from the damage the sun can do. It is an SPF 45 sunscreen to protect your skin from UVA and UVB sun rays. It is also water and sweat resistant so you can enjoy going in the pool or ocean without having to worry about it coming off.
Caring for your tattoo is very important and you want to make sure it is treated the best way you can. Always consult a professional and then decide what’s for you based on your body and skin type since no one knows your body better than yourself. Follow these guidelines so you can proudly show off your tattoo.
